The City of El Paso Capital Improvement Department will soon begin installing school zone flashers at Beall Elementary School and move to the second location for Paul Moreno Elementary School.

Currently, the Paul Moreno campus is already receiving flashers along Murchison Drive, and on July 13th, 2016, construction crews will begin installing the school zone flashers at second site for the campus along San Diego Avenue.   Work will commence on July 18th, 2016 on the installation of the flashers at Beall Elementary School located at 320 S. Piedras Street.

Once installed the school zone safety flashers will alert motorists of the school zones, and draw attention to pedestrians and school zone speed limits.  Appropriate signage will be place in throughout duration of the project. The project schedule may be modified due to weather or other unforeseen events.

The work is a part of a School Zone Safety project funded by the Texas Department of Transportation and the City of El Paso. When completed in summer 2017, the projects will have provided several elementary schools with school zone safety flashers. Campuses programmed for the school zone safety flashers are: Benito Martinez, Jane Hambric, Paul Moreno, Beall, Park, Dr. Nixon, Johnson, Lamar, Kohlberg, and Vilas.
