City Hall Flag Flown at Half-Staff in Honor of Former Mayor Ray Salazar

As a symbol of respect for former Mayor Ray Salazar the flag at City Hall will be flown at half-staff today Friday, May 6, 2016.

The former mayor of El Paso Mayor Ray Salazar served as mayor of El Paso from 1977-1979. Salazar’s funeral services are scheduled to take place on Friday as well.

Mayor Oscar Leeser issued the following statement last week upon learning of former Mayor Salazar’s passing.

“I am saddened on the passing of former Mayor Ray Salazar. On behalf of our City, I extend my deepest condolences to his family and close friends. I am grateful for his friendship and the dedication and service he provided our community during his time as Mayor.”
