Sidewalk and street art ahead. It’s almost time for Chalk the Block, El Paso's most colorful annual event.

Prepare to break out the chalk and your artistic skills. Downtown will become a living breathing canvas when the street art extravaganza returns live and in living color in October with lots of free family-friendly activities.

Chalk the Block isn’t just about drawing on sidewalks and streets. There are interactive art installations, live bands, a sidewalk chalk art competition, a vendor marketplace, food trucks, and chalk.

Lots of chalk.

If you’ve never taken the kiddos, you are really missing out on a kid-friendly experience they will absolutely love. I mean, what kid doesn't like to chalk up sidewalks?

Since its inception 16 years ago, the free and family-friendly festival has become the largest free public arts festival in the Southwest.
