This Saturday, May 16, 2015 is National Kids to Parks Day which encourages children across the country to head outdoors and visit a park with their families.

National Kids to Parks Day is a free event that will be held at McKelligon Canyon Park from 9:00 a.m. to noon this Saturday, May 16, 2015.

Kids and their families will be able to learn from rangers and parks employees who will lead exploration hikes, archery demonstrations, casting demonstrations, and many other activities.

Participants should arrive by 8:45 a.m. on Saturday and be dressed for the outdoors to participate with plenty of sunscreen and water for drinking to remain hydrated.

The 4th annual event is sponsored by the City of El Paso Parks and Recreation Department, Texas Parks & Wildlife Department, and the National Park Service, and is part of the City of El Paso’s commitment to improve the quality of life by creating innovative recreational, educational, and cultural programs.
