El Paso has been the backdrop for a lot of classic movies like ‘The Border’ starring Jack Nicholson, and the cult classic ‘Manos: The Hands of Fate’. It's pretty cool to see our own city featured prominently in a movie, and this weekend, you can check out one of the hottest and best looking couples to ever film a movie in El Paso, Steve McQueen and Ali MacGraw.

The movie was released in 1972 to not fabulous reviews, but it did great at the box office. Ali MacGraw was married at the time to a Hollywood producer and Steve McQueen had just separated from his wife. They had an affair on the set and later went on to marry each other. Their marriage didn't last and ended in divorce five years later. You can feel the chemistry between them on-screen, and to be honest, I'm usually so amazed by how gorgeous they are as a couple that the actual plotline takes a backseat! In the movie, McQueen plays a robber who gets sprung from jail by MacGraw, his wife. They do a job for a crooked businessman and then have to go on the run to try and make it Mexico to getaway from the guy.

You'll recognize a lot of scenes from El Paso, and get to watch two movie stars fall in love onscreen. Check out the movie for free at the International Museum of Art and then walk around their exhibits for free, as well.
