I'm not a camping out kind of girl, but this sounds like something I would even like.

You and your family can camp out at Memorial Park in Central El Paso this weekend. The park is amazing, and if you've never seen it, you are really missing out. It is one of the biggest green spaces in the city and has been around for decades. In the 1920s, the park had a lake and you can still see the iconic stone bridge that used to cross the lake.

The City of El Paso Parks and Recreation Department will hosting an “Outdoor Adventure Campout” this weekend so you can hang out at the park and have a little staycation in the middle of the city. Not only can you camp out, you can also swim across the street at Memorial Pool, and take part in a number of family oriented activities. You will have to bring your own tents, food, refreshments, and supplies.
You cannot bring alcohol.

Camp spaces in the park will be on a first come-first served basis and you will need to register in order to get a space. You can call the El Paso Parks and Recreation Department at (915) 544-0753 or go to their website at elpasotexs.gov/parks.
