The downtown El Paso skyline is going to change tomorrow.

The words Camino Real Hotel will glow purple for the last time tonight. The hotel will be renamed the Hotel Paso del Norte as it undergoes a top to bottom renovation. The Camino Real Hotel sign will be removed on Wednesday.

The entire lobby level, the famous dome bar and restaurant, and the 10th floor ballroom and terrace which has been housing mechanical systems will be restored.
The 10th floor will feature a luxurious full-service spa, state-of-the-art gym, and a pool and pool deck.

The hotel was built in 1912 and earned a place on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
Renovation plans for the hotel include all 356 hotel rooms and suites, as well the second-floor Grand Ball room, and meeting and conference rooms.
