The company that has owned and operated El Paso Blockbuster stores since 1992, says they are getting out of the video rental business. The last regular day of business was Sunday, March 27th.

Blockbuster will reopen on Saturday, April 2nd for a final closing sale beginning at noon. These sales will last for several weeks until the entire inventory has been sold. There are over 15,000 DVD’s, Blu-rays, and video games that will be for sale at their four remaining stores at 10501 Gateway Blvd. West, 6135 North Mesa Street, 10765 Kenworthy Street, and 1796 North Zaragoza Road.

Blockbuster officials say they've had a great run in El Paso, but the way people watch movies at home has changed so much that it has affected their bottom line.
