Blackfish is a documentary that premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year.

The documentary focuses on the dangers surrounding orcas and their captivity, especially the performing orca whale from Sea World, Tilikum.

Tilikum has been associated with three deaths, 2 trainers and a visitor who happened to have sneaked in after hours. The film spotlights Sea Worlds treatment of orcas which may have played a role in Tilikum’s behavior.

It’s also interesting to note that Pixar’s John Lasseter and Andrew Stanton have made changes to the ending of the upcoming animated film, Finding Dory after they saw the documentary.

Blackfish is showing at Cinemark at Cielo Vista Mall.
