Best Places to Take Mom on Mother’s Day in El Paso – Our Top Five
Everyone has something they like to do with mom on Mother’s Day to show her how special she is. Some people go out and eat, others go to place mom loves to do her favorite things, still others do something fun at home. We polled the office to find out what different things our staff likes to do with mom.
Take Her Out For A Spa/Pampering Day
Tricia has a few ideas for Mother’s Day in El Paso, including, “Sounds cliche, I know, but she deserves a massage for all the times she carried you, even AFTER you were born! She needs a pedicure for all the running around she did for you. And she needs a cut and color because every last grey hair on her head has YOUR name on it!” Try Barragan’s or Massage Envy.
Then add a trip to Payless Shoes, “There is nothing better than a brand new wardrobe of spring and summer shoes, and you can get a big bang for your buck at Payless! She’ll have happy feet, and you’ll have a happy wallet!”
And finally dinner at Rosa’s Cantina, “One of the coolest dives in El Paso! Let her feast on tacos and Tecate and beat the pants off you at pool! You can feast on the tacos, but lay off the Tecate – someone has to drive home, ya know!”
Mother’s Day Buffets/Brunch
Many places around town have fantastic Mother’s Day Buffets and Brunches! From the Ardovino’s Desert Crossing’s brunch to Butterfield Trail Golf Club to Sunland Park Racetrack and Casino’s Buffets. JT’s mom loves her some buffet, “My Moms favorite Mothers day outing is Sunland Park Race Track and Casino ,they serve a spectacular Vegas Style Buffett at Ventana’s, then (I have 6 brothers and sisters and we all giver her cash ) she takes her Mothers Day Money and hits the slots!”
A Place Of Great Memories
Tony Bravo has a perfect place for his mom, “My mother Tina is a creature of habit. It’s seems like every year she wants to go the the Villa Del Mar Restaurant on Gateway East. As a youngster, my family would trek across the border to the original Villa Del Mar in Juarez, but with the continuing violence in Mexico, and now with many of the fine restaurants in Juarez moving to El Paso, the Villa Del Mar is still my mother’s choice. She loves the Shrimp a la Mexicana, with a delicious Margarita to wash it down with. Happy Mother’s Day!”
Somewhere Beautiful And Special
Even though most moms don’t want flowers as a gift, a visit to El Paso’s Rose Garden is a great fun thing to do! Joanne says, “It’s my favorite place to take mom on Mother’s Day! A stroll through a beautiful 4-acre rose garden, followed by lunch at Memorial Park, right across the street! There aren’t that many official rose gardens, and El Paso is fortunate to have one!”
Mom’s Most Comfortable Place
One of the best places to take mom on Mother’s Day, is right in her own home! Even a party in the backyard can be a wonderful thing for mom. Teresa says, “She can stay in her comfy clothes while the kids pull together and fix a nice brunch and clean up after themselves.”
Tricia agrees, “Either make your Mom her favorite meal, or get takeout. Set up a nice little table on the back porch and let her watch you sweat it out in her backyard while you mow the grass, sweep up the clippings, and make sure her iced tea glass never gets more than half empty! She’ll enjoy her yard without having to do any of the heavy lifting!”
