After 52 years of serving some of the best Italian food in town, Bella Napoli is going to close it's doors on Saturday.

Bella Napoli is located at 6331 N. Mesa, and you can hardly see from the street, but if you grew up in El Paso, you've probably been there at least once. The restaurant was started by Alberto Sala and the current owner is his son, Luis Cordova. Cordova said he is sad that the restaurant has to close, but he said the Bella Napoli old-school service and ambiance just doesn't seem to be what the younger restaurant-goers are looking for.

The last day to enjoy Bella Napoli fabulousness is this Saturday, February 28th, the one year anniversary of the passing of Alberto Sala.

My family used to go to Bella Napoli at least a couple of weekends a month when my grandparents were alive. I remember birthdays, anniversaries, even just 'hey, let's get together for dinner, tonight' happening there all the time. As time went by, I used to take my boys there, and Darren and I loved to go for Chicken Jerusalem at least once a month.

The good news is Cordova said the family is looking to the future, and possibly a different business. Hopefully, it will be soon!

Thanks for the memories, Bella Napoli!
