Bataan Memorial Death March to be Featured on 60 Minutes
Some exciting news for the Bataan Memorial Death March, it will be featured on a nationally syndicated television show in June and later this fall!
60 Minutes will air a segment featuring 98-year-old Ben Skardon's journey from the Bataan Death March. They will be showing his journey on completing the 8.5 miles at the 27th Annual Bataan Memorial Death March at White Sands Missile Range.
The segment will air on both 60 Minutes and 60 Minutes Sports which airs on Showtime. Usually, the sports program doesn't air anything until three years after the original air date on 60 Minutes, but they made an exception for the first time ever for this story. Patty Campos had the honor of singing the National Anthem at the 27th Bataan Memorial Death March, let’s see if she comes out on TV!
The segment is scheduled to air June 7th on 60 Minutes Sports on Showtime and will continue to air for the month of June. CBS 60 Minutes will run the story later this fall, probably sometime in November. An exact date has not been determined but check back with KISS-FM for updates!
