What's different this year?

Balloon Festival is changing to a 100% family-friendly festival, and is changing locations to Bowen Ranch, just 10 minutes north of the city on Highway 54, outside of hectic downtown traffic. This year's balloon theme with be "America," taking on a patriotic theme to celebrate the Memorial Day weekend in America's most patriotic city.

What kind of activities are going to be featured?

Festivalgoers will never be bored. FREE balloon launches in the morning, opening into the festival. Ranch activities like hay rides, pony rides for children, trail rides for everyone else. There will be a petting zoo -- but not your typical petting zoo. You'll encounter real ranch livestock. For the adults, we'll have champagne tastings, as well as beer and wine in the Western saloon area.

Will there be live music?

Of course. We'll be featuring a lineup of folk, Americana and country performers. Bands announced soon.

Can I tailgate at the Balloon Festival?

Why, yes you can -- thanks for asking! We'll even let you park on the launch field. Our Launch Field Tailgating pass is only $30 and gets you a 20’ X 20’ reserved space on the launch field that offers prime viewing of hot-air balloon launches. The space fits one vehicle and an area for your family/friends during the launches (5A - 8A). Pass is good for one day (Sunday OR Monday).  No grills allowed.

Hey -- where are all the rock bands?

No worries, man. While the Balloon Festival is taking flight in a different direction, our sister station KLAQ will still be providing all the rock music you want at Rock on the Water at Wet-N-Wild Waterworld on Saturday, May 28. All the details are here -- you can go rock out and still make it to the balloon glow Soldier Salute and Balloon Glow Saturday night.

My question wasn't answered here. What do I do?
