If 43-year-old Joe Berti of Austin, Texas were a cat he’d be down to 7 lives because he’s used up two of them this week alone. On Monday, Berti ran the Boston Marathon and finished thirty seconds before the first bomb exploded. Not only was he not hurt, his wife Amy, who was standing in the blast zone, wasn’t either.

Then, days after returning home to Austin and going back to work, Joe was driving home from a meeting in Dallas on Wednesday and noticed smoke on the horizon just outside Waco. Seconds later, the explosion that registered as a 2.1-magnitude quake on seismographs shook his truck.
