If your kid likes space science, you need to check out Insights El Paso Science Center's Space Festival Saturday, September 29.

Insights is working with the El Paso Elks Lodge #187, Boy Scout Troop 187, and other local organizations to put on El Paso’s first ever space festival. The festival is part of a nationwide celebration of educational programs. Kids can explore Earth and space phenomena, and they'll even be able to learn about current NASA Research.

Some of the activities include launching stomp rockets, experimenting with how water moves in a watershed, making and exploring moon craters, and more. There will be a lot of interactive activities, bouncy houses and slides, prizes, and lunch will be provided.

El Paso astronaut Danny Olivas will open the festival on Saturday morning and answer audience questions about space exploration. There will even be a star party on Saturday night from 8:00 – 9:30 p.m. There will be star viewing, and edible solar system crafts with Insights and the Sun City Astronomers.
