Get your lawn chairs out of storage and fish your comfiest picnic blankets out of the closet because it's outdoor movie time at Ascrate Park again.

El Paso County Parks is participating in this year's Nuevo Siglo Drama Festival city-wide festivities by hosting a free lake-side screening of everyone's favorite Day of the Dead animated movie, Coco on Friday, April 13.

The family friendly event will get underway at 5:30 p.m. with a handful of activities for the kids and several food trucks serving up their specialties, according to the Facebook event post. Families can then gather around the glow of "the largest inflatable screen in the city," which will be set up near the waterfront on the lawn across from the pavilion, and kick back under the stars for the special screening of Coco just after sundown; approximately 7:30 p.m.

Gates will open at 4 p.m. Blankets, lawn chairs and leashed, well behaved pets are welcome. Alcohol, not so much. For more event information, visit the El Paso County Parks & Special Events Facebook.
