El Paso went crazy for the UTEP Women's Basketball team and their coach, Keitha Adams, during their WNIT run. Even though the Lady Miners didn't win the title, they did take the city on a great post-season ride. UTEP fans have seen coaches do well before, and that is usually followed by them leaving the university for a bigger school and paycheck. But Monday morning, Coach Adams had some good news for UTEP fans when she told Mike and I she is going to stay on as Coach of their Women's basketball team!

Coach Adams has been at UTEP since 2001, and she has signed a contract that will keep her with UTEP through the 2017 - 2018 season. She has taken the Women's Basketball team to the NCAA Tournament twice, but for some reason, this year's run at the WNIT lit a fire under fans butts. Fans got so excited about the Lady Miners that each game they played drew bigger and bigger crowds to the Don Haskins Center, and eventually the last two games of the tournament were played to sold out crowds!

We spoke with Coach Adams on Monday morning, and she was very thankful for all the fan support that the Lady Miners got this season, and she told us that she will be staying at UTEP, but only if fans continue to support the team, so get ready to head to the Don next season to cheer on Coach Adams and the Lady Miners!
