Another Suspicious Package Outside a Las Cruces Church – School on Lockdown

About 9:30 a.m. Friday morning, a suspicious package was reported outside the First Presbyterian Church next to Las Cruces High School. The whole area is blocked off and the preschool next door as well as Las cruces High School is on lockdown. Las Cruces police are blocking off streets in the vicinity of East Boutz Road near El Paseo Road and South Main Street after the device was found this morning at First Presbyterian Church, 200 E. Boutz Road. Vista Montana Apartments are also being evacuated which are in the area.

DASO and the FBI are on the scene and are preparing to check the package. It is a box about 10 ft away from the front door of the church. Police are asking everyone avoid the area and keep and eye open for any suspicious activity.
