Is it proper to bill wedding guests who are a no-show at the last minute?

This is exactly what happened when a guest couple received a bill from a pissed off bride to cover the cost of their meal at her wedding.

The couple who planned originally to attend the wedding had to cancel at the last minute because they were unable to find a babysitter to care for their children and they had only been RSVP’d for two, so they couldn’t take the kids.

The morning of the wedding the guest couple claim that they logged on to the wedding website to cancel their reservation only to receive a $75 bill a few weeks later from the bride to cover the cost of two herb crusted walleye meals.

The note attached read: 'This cost reflects the amount paid by the bride and groom for meals that were RSVP'd for, reimbursement and explanation for no show, card, call or text would be appreciated.'

Ouch! While the guest couple does not plan on paying the bill they might also consider finding nicer friends.
