All Fireworks Banned in El Paso County 4th of July Weekend

No fireworks…again.

For the third year in a row, El Pasoans will not be able to light fireworks in the county’s  area this Fourth of July season.

County Judge Veronica Escobar issued a declaration of local disaster and will asked the county commissioners to ban the use and sale of all fireworks in the county’s unincorporated areas, given the continued severe drought.

The declaration of disaster and the fireworks ban was discussed at a special commissioners meeting at 2 p.m. this afternoon at the County Commissioners Court Chambers.
