The news of the death of Gene wilder earlier this week shocked and saddened everyone who loved his movies. 'Young Frankenstein', 'Stir Crazy', and 'The Woman in Red' are just some of the classics that will ensure that his work will never be forgotten.

The news that he suffered from Alzheimer's disease was also a shock. His family said that he didn't want people to know that he was sick because when people saw him out in public, he wanted his fans to see Willy Wonka, not someone who was ill.

That is an amazing gift to us all from a sweet man.

To celebrate his life and legacy, Alamo Drafthouse on El Paso's westside will be screening one of Wilder's best movies, 'Blazing Saddles', on Monday, September 5, at 7:00 p.m. The proceeds will be donated to the Walk for Alzheimer's.
