You'll soon be able to do dinner and a movie in the movie theater itself! The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema chain has announced its first El Paso franchise will be built in West El Paso. Plans are for a nine-screen cinema in the Montecillo Town Center community at 5001 N. Mesa, which is between Executive and Festival.

My sister, who lives in San Antonio, loves this place. She says you can eat a meal and sip on a cold one while enjoying a movie in a full-size movie theater. Neat, huh? No exact opening date has been set yet, but the El Paso Times quotes David Bogas, director of development for EPT Land Communities, as saying "it's coming and it's coming soon." He adds that it's being built "as quickly as possible."
