ABC 7 Anchor’s Husband Injured After Trying To Break Up A Fight At Irvin High School

The husband of ABC 7 anchor, Stephanie Valle, was injured after trying to break up a fight that broke out on the Irvin High School campus earlier this week. Scott Gray, who is an assistant principal, was pushed to the ground while trying to break up the fight, and broke his knee cap. Gray underwent surgery for the injury and is expected to make a full recovery.

The district is reviewing videos of the incident and say the students involved could face suspension.

Even thought the district has its own police force and assigns an officer to every high school, in this case, the officer did not respond to the fight. Teachers and administrators are trained to respond during those types of situations, but a student told ABC 7 that he doesn't feel that teachers and administrators are safe.

It's unclear how many assaults or incidents happened in the past on the Irvin High School campus, or if any teachers or administrators were injured in those situations.
