A View Of El Paso’s Smelter You’ve Never Seen [VIDEO]

There has been a lot of discussion about ASARCO lately - tear it down?  Leave it as a monument to El Paso's industrial past?  Tourist attraction?  Eyesore?  Whatever your view of the iconic towers that sit across I-10 from UTEP, I'll bet you've never seen a view like this one!

I ran across this video made by a group of local historians called El Paso Gold.  They have a series of DVDs about El Paso's history that area priceless.  But the unprecedented access they had over the past few years to ASARCO will blow you away.  Check out the first footage of a documentary they are currently filming and editing about ASARCO:
