8th Annual Battle of the Badges Blood Drive Taking Place This Weekend

The Battle of the Badges returns this year to Cielo Vista Mall and Mesilla Mall this weekend, August 12-14, 2016.

The dedicated firemen, policemen and sheriffs are sending out the challenge to everyone in El Paso and Las Cruces to donate blood and help save lives. Our first responders will be at the drives to recruit blood donors and donate themselves, as well as competing for votes. According to United Blood Services, it takes 175 blood donations every day to meet the needs of area patients and for emergencies. Blood donations help save the lives of patients in 18 area hospitals throughout the El Paso and Southern New Mexico region.

Who Can Donate Blood?

Blood donors must be at least 16 years old
Donors must weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health
Additional height/weight requirements apply to donors 23 and younger
Donors who are 16 must have signed permission from a parent or guardian

Plus, everyone who donates blood this weekend will receive a Battle of Badges t-shirt and you can vote for your very favorite first responders team while on site.
