All El Paso area kids will be going back to school by the end of the month, but you still have time to have fun at Hueco Tanks. Hueco Tanks is about a 40 minute drive from El Paso and it is well worth it. Not only are there amazing rock formations to climb and hike, but there are a number of events happening out there as well.

Hueco Tanks Yoga Tour
Blue Lizard Climbing's Yoga instructor, Beth M. will lead the yoga class. Spots are limited to 10, reservations are recommended. Call (915) 857-1135, for reservations. Bring plenty of water, hiking shoes, sunscreen, and your own mat. Cost is $9.

August 12 - 8 a.m. - 12 noon
Children's Survival Day at Hueco Tanks
Your child will learn how to survive the desert elements, including how to identify different plants in the desert that are edible, and which ones are toxic.

August 12 - 8:30 a.m.
Hueco Tanks Rare Plant Tour
Tour plant life in Hueco Tanks including plant life that can be found in Hueco Tanks and no where else in the U.S.

August 12 - 9 - 11:00 a.m.
Women's Hike - Hueco Tanks
Park Interpreter Dr. Kendra Moore will leaed the 2-hour hike through Hueco Tanks and answer questions about the park. She will also help out any woman who has a fear of hiking.

August 19 - 7:30 a.m.
Hueco Tanks Birding Hike
Tours leave from the Park's Interpretive Center at 7:30 AM every third Saturday of the month. Give yourself enough time to check-in at the headquarters and prepare before the tour leaves.

August 21 - 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Hueco Tanks Solar Eclipse Viewing
Hueco Tanks Rangers will host a Solar Viewing telescope in the park for watching the Solar Eclipse. This will not be a full length program or star talk, but we will have hands-on activities for visitors as well as the view of a lifetime.

August 24 - 8 - 10:00 p.m.
Hueco Tanks Constellation Tour
There are no reservations for the stargazing events. Attendees are accepted on a first come, first serve basis and only the first 100 people to arrive into the event will be allowed in.
