Mary L. Peyton Foundation and UTEP are making it possible for current undergraduate students to continue their education with scholarships that will allow the students to pay off their balances and register for the summer and/or fall semesters.

On Tuesday, May 20th, 57 UTEP undergraduate students will receive a total of $67,000 from the El Paso foundation during a ceremony that will be held at the University Learning Center courtyard at noon.

Students were chosen via an application process that determined which students were receiving other sources of financial support and still had tuition balances for the spring 2014 semester. Students also had be residents of El Paso and enrolled full time with a minimum 2.5 GPA.

The Mary L. Peyton Foundation has been assisting students with funds for educational obligations since 1973. This is the largest award that has been granted to University undergraduates at one time and it is even better that it happened during such a special time for UTEP as they celebrate their centennial year!
