It's that time of year again, where the second you hear those twinkling sounds you know what's about to happen. Not too long ago, we learned that a Dallas bar was banning Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas" from being played before December 1st, and even after that, it would only be allowed to be played once a night.

I won't deny, I'm a fan of "All I Want for Christmas"- it's basically become the Christmas anthem- and once it comes on in bars everyone loses it! Granted, I've only ever heard it at gay bars, so that may be a factor. However, there are a few other songs that I do think should be banned from being played in bars like...

A Few of My Favorite Things

How is this even a Christmas song? It comes out in "The Sound of Music"- and I don't even think it's in a Christmas scene! Seriously, if you know, let me know!

12 Days of Christmas

It's a FULL 12 DAYS- the song is never ending!

Santa Baby

The breathy baby voice annoys me!

Feliz Navidad

It's the same words over and over again- in English AND Spanish! I feel like if I didn't know Spanish I'd be okay with it, but because I do I'm overly critical of the lyrics. Stop playing this thinking your Spanish speaking friends would enjoy it, we're over it.

Happy Christmas (War is Over)

The Maroon 5 version. The beat is weird, Adam Levine's voice annoys me in this song and if I hear it at a bar I will need copious amounts of tequila to tolerate it!

Now, as for a song that SHOULD ALWAYS BE PLAYED: Wham's "Last Christmas." As someone who grew up with an older sister in the early '90's, George Michael graced the walls of our shared bedroom (very much like DJ Tanner from "Full House").

I love to blast "Last Christmas" and sing along loudly to it. I know every word and prefer the extended version but am completely in love with the music video- that hair! The style! The vocals- George Michael in all his glory. I was devastated when he passed away in 2016 on Christmas making it his real "Last Christmas".

It's my feel good Christmas song and if I heard this at the bar- I'd lose it!
