A 1.8 million dollar lawsuit brought against the city by the owner of the now closed Three-Legged Monkey bar, has been dismissed. Mike Armstrong, who owned the east side bar, brought the lawsuit after he said the city and the owners of the strip center where the Three-Legged Monkey was located, had breached a 20-year lease agreement with him.
Armstrong also claimed that the city and the owners of Patriot Place worked together to put him out of business.

During the last couple of years the Monkey was open, neighbors complained about loud drunk patrons invading the surrounding neighborhoods, and the city jumped into the fight with undercover drug sting operations that never turned up any wrongdoing. According to Armstrong, his business was also subjected to raids by the city to find code violations, but those were unsuccessful as well.
