One of the highlights of the Sun Bowl season is the annual Sun Bowl Parade. This year’s parade theme has been announced by the Sun Bowl Association and FirstLight Federal Credit Union. It will be “Amazing Feats.”

The Sun Bowl Association says floats that will be participating in this year’s parade will center on amazing feats from any time in history, such as accomplishments found in the Guiness Book of World Records, feats from history books or Biblical feats like Moses parting the Red Sea. There could even be floats that celebrate eating records, engineering feats, or athletic records like the UTEP winning the 1966 National Championship in basketball.

Float entry applications will have to be submitted to the Sun Bowl Association office at 4150 Pinnacle Street, Suite 100, no later than September 8. Along with the entry form and certificate of insurance, a mock-up of the float, or of the artwork, along with a written description of the float and sponsor information will also have to be submitted.

This year’s Sun Bowl Parade is scheduled for Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, Nov. 22, 2018, ata 10 a.m. The parade will run down Montana Ave from Ochoa Street and end at Copia Street.
