‘Tis (almost) the season for the annual Christmas pilgrimage to the most festive house in all of El Paso -- Fred Loya’s east side home.

The synchronized music and light show will make its 2015 debut on the day after Thanksgiving, Friday, Nov. 27, with additional shows on Saturday, Nov. 28, and Sunday, Nov. 29. The free shows will continue every Friday through Sunday night in December with the final shows taking place on Sunday, Dec. 27. Show times are 6, 7, and 8 p.m.

The Loya’s made extensive upgrades to the already over-the-top nine minute light show last year, adding several displays and hundreds of thousands multicolored lights. The additions helped them win ABC’s “The Great Christmas Light Fight” and the $50,000 grand prize, which was split among 10 El Paso charities.

This year, the night sky will be lit up even brighter, if you can imagine that. Barbara Lopez, Mr. Loya’s Executive Administrative Assistant, told me via email the family purchased additional new pieces from New York and Atlanta to add to this year's event, and even more lights.

They've also increased the number of picture stations by two. Like previous years, families are welcome to take photos and selfies with Santa Claus and his elves. Complimentary hot chocolate and cookies will again be provided after every show.

Mr. Loya’s house is located at 12001 Paseo de Oro, one block north of Montwood, off Bob Mitchell.

Please make every effort to park at Montwood High School, and not in the surrounding neighborhoods, or church parking lot. And keep it classy, El Paso. Be respectful of other people’s property so we can continue to have this for many Christmases to come.
